Coastlands Church came together in 2009 when a group of people from a variety of church traditions were called together to begin a new work.

We are affiliated with the Baptist Union of Great Britain (BUGB) and The South East Baptist Association (SEBA).

The name Coastlands has special meaning as it summarizes our mission and purpose based on the following scripture:

Sing a new song to the Lord!
Sing His praises from the ends of the earth!
Sing, all you who sail the seas,
all you who live in distant coastlands (Isaiah 42:10, NLT)

Our local mission field is the “Coastlands” which stretch from Newhaven to Rottingdean from which we draw most of our members. The “new song” represents the willingness to abandon old ways and methods to embrace something new and fresh that God wants to bring to this stretch of the south coast of England. Our mission statement is brief:  ”A Church without walls.”  This means that we take seriously Jesus’ command to “go” into our local community, surrounding area and the entire world” rather than to create a comfy club behind the walls of a church building. The purpose of the mission that has been given to us is so that the peoples along these Coastlands will know Jesus and will praise His name.

We meet for worship Sunday mornings at 10:30am at the Peacehaven Community School, Greenwich Way, Peacehaven, East Sussex BN10 8RB.

We invite you to join us on Sunday, whether you are visiting, passing through, live in the area or just want to see what we are all about.
